Yasmina Chaer

My name is Yasmina Chaer, and I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Psychoanalytic Psychopathology from Université Paris Cité (formerly Paris Diderot, Paris VII), with a specialization in child and adolescent psychology.

My clinical training included placements in diverse settings, including a hospital’s orthopedic and trauma surgery department and two internships focused on child mental health one in a medico-psychopedagogical center, and another within a specialized support network for children facing emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges.

After returning to Lebanon, I joined Build as an intern, where I took part in psychoeducational workshops on themes such as empathy, sociability, problem-solving, and self-esteem. Currently, I contribute to Build by writing articles from a clinical and psychoanalytic perspective on topics including adolescence, couple dynamics, love, and hatred.

As part of my therapeutic work, I will also be supporting children experiencing challenges by using symbolic mediation tools such as role-playing, drawing, and visual aids to foster expression and imagination. This approach is rooted in the central theme of my Master’s thesis, which focused on the role of symbolic mediation in psychological development
